Location: Midlands & North (Birmingham up to Manchester)

Reports to: Operations Director

Salary: £45,000–£50,000 + performance bonus + mileage allowance

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Role…

As part of our senior leadership team, our childcare director will be passionate about delivering a high-quality provision for our children and families and will have full accountability for the performance, quality, and compliance of all wraparound and holiday club settings from Birmingham to Manchester. They will lead a team of extended schools leads, site leads and practitioners, ensure operational excellence, and drive expansion across the region.

What you will be doing …
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of settings from Birmingham to Manchester.
  • Design and implement varied high-quality activity timetables, termly themes, and an engaging curriculum across all sites, aligned with our values and the needs of the children.
  • Coach and support site leads and practitioners to develop their skills and deliver exceptional sessions.
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding requirements, health & safety standards, and company policies (working in partnership with our HR team).
  • Drive occupancy, quality, and financial performance of your region.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding of new team members as we grow.
  • Collaborate with marketing to drive local engagement and club visibility.
  • Report on performance, risks, and opportunities to the senior team.
  • Contribute to growth, identifying prospects and supporting the launch of new clubs in your area.

  • Multi-site leadership experience in childcare, education, play-work, or enrichment programmes.
  • A strong understanding of child development and creative curriculum design.
  • A hands-on, high-accountability mindset with operational excellence.
  • Experience designing or overseeing structured activities or educational programmes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, EYFS, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communicator, organiser, and motivator of teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between sites and work flexibly around setting hours.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
