Service Care Solutions – Recruiting on Behalf of Our Preston Client Role: Recovery Worker – Substance Misuse Service

Location: Preston

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Pay Rate: £23 LTD per hour

About the Role: We are looking for Recovery Workers to join a dynamic Substance Misuse Service. You will support service users throughout their treatment and recovery journey, helping them reduce harm and reintegrate into the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support service users from entry into the service through their recovery journey
  • Provide screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral
  • Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promote carer, service user, and community involvement
  • Advocate for access to partnership services
  • Deliver structured group sessions and workshops tailored to service user needs (e.g., anger management, sleep disorders, relationships)
  • Engage in debriefing and evaluations after group sessions
  • Support social reintegration, resilience, peer support, and self-determination
About You
  • Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience in a similar field
  • Experience delivering group sessions and managing group dynamics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good IT proficiency
  • Proactive, able to work independently with strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of mental health interventions and best practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professionals, agencies, and stakeholders
  • Committed to safeguarding information and following governance processes
  • Willing to learn and contribute to team development
