Qualifications

A Bit About The Role…

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team at Connolly Ltd. This is a key commercial role supporting the delivery of refurbishment and retrofit projects within the Social Housing sector.

We will be responsible for managing costs, procurement, valuations, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards.

What you will be responsible for…
  • Prepare and agree target costs for individual projects, including obtaining specialist supply chain quotations.
  • Produce accurate, real-time monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports detailing commercial performance against agreed targets.
  • Provide feedback on historic cost data and identify areas for improved efficiency.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to achieve the highest standards of subcontract procurement and cost control.
  • Ensure all external valuation receipts and subcontract payments comply with contract conditions.
  • Manage, review, and authorise operative wages aligned to productivity reviews with Contracts Managers.
  • Review and approve subcontractor valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Create and manage cash flow forecasts, cost reporting, and CVRs for monthly internal review meetings.
  • Oversee supply chain approval process for new applications.
  • Manage procurement of subcontractors, specialist materials, and plant, including ordering, payment applications, and retention management.
  • Monitor and report on commercial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Attend and contribute to pre-start and contract close-out meetings, chairing where required.
  • Foster collaboration across teams to maximise efficiency and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and Connolly Ltd values.
What we’d like from you…
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a similar sector/project environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes, contract management (JCT), and legislative standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and cost management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently with high accuracy.
  • Full UK driving licence.
