About the position
At Jane Street, quantitative traders identifymarket signals, analyze and execute strategies,construct quantitative models, conduct statisticalanalyses, build algorithmic trading systems,manage risk, develop new businesses, and more.
Our trading desks are central to ourcollaborative and cooperative office environment.You can expect to work side by side withexperienced traders who are committed to teaching,guiding, and supporting our newest hires. Throughhands-on, interactive training, you’ll acquiresignificant trading responsibilities within weeks to months of being on the desk. In parallel, youwill participate in our robust year-long firmwideeducational curriculum.
At Jane Street, the lines between research,technology, and trading are intentionally blurry.As our strategies grow more sophisticated, closecollaboration is essential for continuing to pushthe boundaries of what’s possible. We work withpetabytes of data, a computing cluster withhundreds of thousands of cores, and a growing GPUcluster containing thousands of high-end GPUs. Wedon’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” modelingsolutions; we are open to and excited aboutapplying all different types of statistical and MLtechniques, from linear models to deep learning,depending on what best fits a given problem.

A profitable trading strategy is only as strongas the technology it runs on, and we considerourselves as much a technology company as atrading firm. General programming experience is aplus, but knowing a particular programminglanguage is not required.
