Job description

Quality Manager - Exceptional opportunity for a hands on Quality Manager to join this respected and established precision engineering business producing low-volume, highly complex products. This is a practical, shop-floor focused role for an experienced quality professional who can lead inspection activities, maintain the QMS, and program CMM equipment.

Key responsibilities
  • Inspect and approve low-volume, high-complexity components and assemblies.
  • Set, operate and program CMM machines. (Specific software training can be provided if required)
  • Maintain and continuously improve the existing Quality Management System to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.(AS 9100 exp. an advantage)
  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures, first article inspection, and non-conformance reporting.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering and supply chain to drive quality improvements.
  • Coach and mentor shop-floor staff on inspection practices and quality awareness.
Essential skills and experience
  • Proven experience as a hands-on Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer working in a CNC precision engineering environment with low-volume, high-complexity products.
  • Experience Programming, setting up and operating CMMs.
  • Demonstrable experience maintaining and administering a QMS.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across teams.
  • Practical, proactive approach with the ability to drive continuous improvement and take initiative.
