Job summary

A manufacturing organization based in Manchester is seeking a Quality Engineer on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will support production quality and implement process controls to ensure continuous improvement. Required skills include strong experience in AS9100 or ISO9001 environments, proficiency with APQP, PFMEA, and SPC, along with excellent problem-solving abilities. The contract offers competitive hourly rates outside IR35.

Qualifications

  • Experience with material testing and process risk assessments.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings including GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily Quality Engineering activities within the manufacturing value stream.
  • Lead APQP activity and support new product and process introductions.
  • Develop and maintain process controls, including SPC and capability studies.

Skills

Strong Quality Engineering background in AS9100 or ISO9001 manufacturing
Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, FAIR/ISIR, and SPC
Strong analytical, problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
