About The Role

Role Purpose

To support Balfour Beatty, deliver the project in accordance with customer and stakeholder requirements and commitments, including verification activities to demonstrate compliance against Balfour Beatty requirements, external accreditations and industry good practice.

To support the co‑ordination, submission, compliance and management of all assurance activities and the resolution of assurance related issues. To ensure implementation of procedures including submissions from the supply chain and establishing test and inspection plans for delivery of the works.

What you'll be doing
  • Support the project team in developing the quality plans and ensure inspection & test plans are being followed and that customer/project requirements are being met, and review those from the project team and the supply chain;
  • Assist the delivery team in achieving the required deliverables, and managing issues as required, also providing Quality advice to our supply chain where appropriate;
  • Use existing systems to allow sample and benchmark plans to be established and agreed with customers and supply chain;
  • Use digital systems to monitor the performance of quality planning / production of quality deliverables / managing of issues against targets;
  • Support the project team in collating and delivering handover records as per customer’ requirements, on time;
  • Attend inspections on site and/or at supplier premises as required by the Inspection and Test Plans;
  • Support Project Teams on the resolution of the raised nonconformities on a timely manner;
  • Review Material Approval Records to ensure they are suitable from a quality point of view;
  • Support the Quality team during internal and external audits;
  • Support the implementation of either project quality strategies, plans and actions across the scope of services and full project lifecycle;
  • Support the undertaking of specific investigations and/or reporting on quality related issues as required;
  • Support the use of appropriate digital toolset to support the project governance and quality assurance/ measures on the project, including training of those tools.

The Following Qualities/experiences Are Essential
  • Prior Quality experience and/or relevant operational / technical experience to meet industry sector demands;
  • Level 4+ Qualification in Quality or Construction or PCQI;
  • Knowledge of ISO9000 Terminology;
  • An understanding and commitment to Quality Management;
  • Awareness of business improvement initiatives;
  • Has an ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts;
  • Work to plans and programmes;
  • Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion;
  • Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively;
  • Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective manner;
  • Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking;
  • Able to work within a multi-discipline team;
  • Fully proficient in modern office computer systems and technology e.g. Office 365.
The Following Qualities/experience Are Desirable
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor trained;
  • Awareness of nuclear industry requirements;
  • Experience in using Digital Progressive Assurance systems / Electronic Forms;
  • Operational experience in construction management;
  • Major Project Experience.
