A leading pet food manufacturer in Bolton is seeking a Quality Auditor to join their R&D team. The role involves conducting physical and chemical tests, maintaining quality records, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems. Ideal candidates should possess a high school diploma and experience in quality control or GMP manufacturing. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a lab environment with various tasks aimed at maintaining product quality.
Exciting opportunity to join the site R&D team in the Bolton Pet Plant (BPP) Quality & Food Safety function as a Quality Auditor. The job holder is required to provide technical assistance to all manufacturing functions to ensure continuous compliance with quality standards.
This role will be a 12 hour rotation shift.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
Must be able to work at elevated heights.
Experience in quality control laboratory or GMP manufacturing operations preferred.
Conducting physical and chemical tests, including but not limited to pipettes, pH, water activity, NIR, lateral flow device, and ELISA methods.
Interpret analytical method procedures and safety instructions using standard chemistry terms and measures.
Maintain all records of analytical testing and quality control lab documentation.
Inform Site Laboratory Coordinator of quality deviations for controls and product.
Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including calibration of equipment.
Ability to conduct limited Instrument troubleshooting and problem diagnosis.
Sampling raw materials from rail cars, bulk trucks, big bags, and totes.
Prepare samples and documentation for external laboratories.
Interpret data from routine analysis in order to validate that materials meet specifications.
Work to ensure lab compliance to quality management systems through training, documentations, quality records, and audits.
Participate in proficiency testing programs.
Able to perform routine calculations pertaining to analytical chemistry (e.g. dilution, concentration, test results).
Collect, prepare and process finished product samples from the packaging lines.
Maintain Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) for the laboratory.
Conduct inventory counts on lab consumables.
