About The Role

A specialist Manufacturing and Engineering company is looking for a motivated and technically minded Proposals Engineer to join their growing team in Horsham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a background in mechanical, process, or chemical engineering who enjoys combining technical understanding with commercial awareness.

As a Proposals Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the sales and projects teams by preparing detailed technical and commercial proposals for industrial plant installations / skid packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and quotations for bespoke plant systems.
• Interpret client specifications, drawings, and tender documents to produce compliant and competitive offers.
• Liaise with internal design, projects, and sales teams to ensure proposals meet technical and budgetary requirements.
• Support the handover of successful bids to the projects department.
• Build relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and accurate pricing.
• Maintain an understanding of relevant environmental technologies and industry standards.

About You

You will have a background in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering, ideally supported by a relevant degree or HNC/HND, and bring experience in proposals, estimating, or applications engineering within an industrial or environmental setting. You should be confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications. Above all, you’ll be a proactive team player who enjoys working collaboratively, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to innovative, sustainable engineering solutions.
