Join the Midlothian Council Property & Estates team as a Development Manager, overseeing a wide range of property‑related services to support the fastest growing local authority in Scotland.
This is a part‑time role, comprising 27 hours per week. Midlothian Council is happy to discuss flexible working arrangements and is committed to hybrid working with no mandated days for office working.
The successful postholder will manage a diverse portfolio of work, delivering Midlothian Council's property rationalisation and development proposals by planning and overseeing the sale, purchase, and letting of property assets, supporting essential Council services and delivering best value.
A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Registered Valuer status is essential. Experience of managing budgets and tenancy contracts would be helpful, as would staff training and development experience.

Based on 27 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £40,856.94 per annum. Midlothian Council policy ensures successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by the applicant. Disclosure Scotland will notify the applicant when the certificate is available to view; it must be shared with the employer within 14 days.
