About the role:

Join Hartpury’s ambitious Campus Development team and play a key role in delivering our exciting 5-year Strategic Maintenance Plan and capital projects. This is your opportunity to help create world‑class facilities that support our students, staff, and community. As Project Officer, you will support the Assistant Director of Campus Development in managing strategic planning, asset utilisation and estate data accuracy. You’ll contribute to new build and refurbishment projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage smaller capital projects and support larger ones through all RIBA stages, from concept to completion
  • Prepare client briefs, tender documentation and contracts in line with Hartpury’s financial regulations
  • Oversee contractors and external advisors, ensuring compliance, value for money and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate estate records, including age, condition, occupancy and environmental performance
  • Produce timely reports on project progress and respond to stakeholder enquiries
  • Support delivery of sustainability and carbon management priorities across projects
  • Assess contractor risk documentation and ensure health and safety compliance
  • Act as the client-side liaison with professional teams and contractors
  • Build strong relationships across Estates, Hartpury colleagues and external partners

About You:

  • Experience in construction, fit‑out, or MEP projects
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
