This may mean leading multiple small engagements with several clients, or larger strategic projects of up to £2m value. This is a staff role based in Aberdeen with hybrid working, expecting 3 days per week from the Aberdeen office.
The Role
You will be responsible for coordinating a global delivery team across the Operations & Consulting Business Units within Wood.

Optimised Energy provides operational maintenance advisory and asset management support to Wood's customers across the operations lifecycle. This consists of:
- Embedding skilled advisors within client organisations
- Co‑ordinating strategic work
- Analysing and improving asset performance
- Providing artificial intelligence‑accelerated services such as maintAI, Performance Optics & safetyAI

Responsibilities
- P & L responsibility with associated commercial and financial accountability including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget and forecast determination, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing and cash collection.
- Contributes to and reviews the project proposal and plan to determine timeframe, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allotment. Sets project evaluation parameters.
- Negotiates changes to project scope or specification with the customer via Change Management process.
- Pursues opportunities for innovation, digitalisation, technology use, work share and high‑value engineering centres.
- Establishes project procedures and leads execution plan including scope, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register etc.
- Regularly reports project progress to senior management and/or the customer.
- Ensures delivery of agreed schedule and financial performance, proactively intervening to avoid slippage.
- Ensures competence of project team members, leads risk identification and mitigation during execution.
- Responsible for project HSSE leadership; establishes initiatives, auditing schedule, ensuring HSSE and quality issues are addressed.
- Guides a multidisciplinary team, including external specialists and staff from multiple offices and sites.
- Promotes a performance‑improvement culture on complex projects and supply chains.
Qualifications
- University degree in relevant discipline.
- PMP, APM or equivalent certification preferred.
- Good level of experience in the related field, industry, and locations of the work.
- Proven project management experience and understanding of business issues.
- Thorough understanding of project management techniques, goals, drivers and strategies.
- Experience developing and implementing success measures and benefits on multiple projects.
- Knowledge of stakeholder prioritisation and management plans.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement in requirement creation and acceptance.
- Competent in risk management processes and assessment techniques.
- Ability to use estimating techniques for standard projects.
- Knowledge of contract models, conditions and suitability.
- Effective project initiation and execution planning on multi‑phase projects.
- Knowledge of international and company quality assurance standards.
- Understanding of commercial and contract conditions for procurement.
- In‑depth knowledge of scheduling techniques.
- Experience in project monitoring and forecasting.
- Skill in managing change control with subcontractors and interfaces.
- Knowledge of information management and documentation.
- Understanding of handover and close‑out activities.
- Knowledge of cash‑flow management and cost forecasting.
