Job summary

A leading polymer manufacturer in the United Kingdom is seeking a Project Engineer to take ownership of engineering projects from concept through deployment. The ideal candidate will possess an HND in Engineering or equivalent and be competent in engineering disciplines such as automation and control systems. Responsibilities include managing multiple engineering projects, providing technical assistance to production teams, and supporting site compliance. Join a dynamic team and contribute to significant improvements and capital projects.

Qualifications

  • HND in Engineering (degree level) or equivalent.
  • Competent in engineering disciplines, particularly automation, control systems, and electrical.
  • Extensive technical problem-solving experience.
  • Experience in writing specifications, designing equipment, and preparing drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Good organizational and proven project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of engineering projects from concept through deployment.
  • Control and coordinate multiple engineering projects concurrently.
  • Provide technical assistance to Production teams.
  • Liaise with suppliers.
  • Support site infrastructure, maintenance, and compliance.

Job description

Our client, a specialist polymer manufacturer, has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the team to take ownership of Engineering projects from concept through deployment.

As part of the project teams you will be responsible for multiple engineering projects concurrently, from small improvements through significant capital projects.

Specific duties include:

  • Engineering development of existing machines and systems
  • Control and co-ordinate projects
  • Provide technical assistance to Production teams
  • Provide engineering advice across the site and support Maintenance Engineers as required
  • Support site infrastructure, facilities, maintenance and compliance
  • Take ownership and proactively manage the activities required to implement large and/or complex projects all the way through product deployment
  • Liaise with suppliers

You should have:

  • HND in Engineering (degree level) or equivalent
  • Competent in engineering disciplines, particularly, automation, control systems and electrical
  • Extensive technical problem-solving experience
  • Experience of writing specifications, design equipment, and prepare drawings using Auto-cad
  • Good organisational and proven project management skills
