Production Engineer – Mount Park, Eastleigh (Onsite)

Location: Mount Park, Eastleigh (Onsite)

Working hours: Mon - Fri, 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary – What to expect

As the Production Engineer for Packaging Operations, you will provide technical expertise on process, production and project support to Mount Park Operations. Your primary responsibilities include organizing and executing validation and verification activities in line with medical device regulatory requirements, appraising, specifying and developing automated systems and production processes for contact lens operations, and leading and participating in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise, process, production and project engineering support to Operations departments to satisfy business objectives.
  • Lead small problem‑solving teams and participate in technical forum activities.
  • Appraise, specify, develop, commission, validate and test new and existing production automated systems and equipment.
  • Conduct equipment & process safety compliance assessments, appraisals, capability studies and validation/verifications programmes in accordance with medical device regulatory requirements.
  • Implement process improvements, including optimisation of productivity, yield and quality, in line with change control requirements.
  • Provide timely reporting against objectives, including design/milestone reviews, presentations, monthly reports and KPI monitoring.
  • Initiate improvement activities, providing detailed commercial benefits.
Travel Requirements

May be required to travel to and work at global sites for short periods of time, with ample notice.

Experience & Education
  • Engineering apprenticeship (mechanical, electrical or electronic) or equivalent.
  • Bachelor, HNC or HND in Engineering or Science.
  • Experience troubleshooting fault diagnosis on automated machinery.
  • Working knowledge of carton lasers, thermal printers and labeling equipment.
  • Experience with vision system inspection/barcode readers.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • High‑speed process engineering and optimisation experience.
  • Proven experience of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Understanding of cGMP and Process Validation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Professional Institute associate member level or equivalent.
