YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Work alongside programme makers.
  • Learn how our teams turn ideas into compelling audio and provide support.
  • Contact contributors and guests.
  • Generate ideas and music reports.
  • Create segments for programmes.
  • Work in live studio environments or on location.

You will learn both on and off the job—attending learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with our provider to achieve the apprenticeship qualification. Learning blocks mix in‑person and virtual delivery.

YOUR SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITY

We value potential over formal qualifications, looking for transferable strengths and a passion for world‑class content delivery.

  • Passionate about music and familiar with DJs.
  • Enthusiastic about audio production.
  • Keen to learn all aspects of programme making.

Non‑graduates only. If you hold a degree, please apply for other BBC roles or consider other apprenticeship schemes.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • Be 18 years old or over by the start of the apprenticeship (September 2026).
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start.
  • Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire apprenticeship duration.
  • Not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme.
  • No prior learning required to apply.

For candidates under 19 by 8 September 2026: you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2. If not, you will need to attain Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of the apprenticeship.
