A leading defence engineering firm is looking for a Principal Materials and Integrity Engineer in Rosyth, Scotland. This role involves leading technical efforts in materials engineering, particularly focusing on maritime structures for naval purposes. Candidates should have significant experience in multidisciplinary project teams and strong skills in maritime structural design. A BEng/MEng in Engineering or Materials Science is required. Role at QinetiQ Rosyth site. 37 hours per week, hybrid working patterns available.
Join a well-established maritime defence engineering team of experienced naval architects delivering innovative solutions that enhance vessel performance throughout the lifecycle. The role focuses on testing submarine and surface ship structures to evaluate performance under operational conditions, primarily supporting the Royal Navy. You will lead technical efforts in materials engineering, with expertise in ferrous materials (including welding), material testing and qualification, fatigue and fracture mechanics, and will oversee delivery of key technical outputs, design reports, documents, and approvals of work packages, reports, and drawings.
