The Role:

Due to our continued growth and client demand, we have the opportunity for a self-motivated individual for the position ofPrincipalGeo-environmental Consultantworking as part of ourGround Investigation team.

The role of thePrincipalGeo-environmentalConsultant willincludetendering,designing andproject management ofcomplexground investigationsalong with managingof the finances for each project.This will includeproducingand final sign-off ondetailedreportsand remediation strategies.

The role requires direct contact with clients and regulators andinvolvement invaried and challenging projects within this growing division of our multidisciplinary consultancy.The role will include some business development and networking tohelp develop new opportunities andmaintainexistingclients.

You will play your part in the wider team, by supporting our client-side project management consultancy and land remediation contracting sections.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

Responsibilities

  • Project Management ofjobs including complexsite investigationsand validation sites. Includes theproduction of quotes and tenders, site investigationdesignand budgeting.
  • Technical report writingto a high specification, including soil, gas and groundwater risk assessments, remediationstrategiesandother detailed risk assessments.
  • Reviewing and signing off Phase 1 desk studies, Phase 2 site investigations, Remediation Strategies, Site CompletionReportand otherdetailed risk assessmentreports.
  • Clientand regulatoryliaison.
  • Business development, including building of own client list and retention of existing clients, attending networking events.
  • Training andmentoringofjunior staff.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field such as geology, geography, environmental science, geophysics, or geochemistry. Anadditionalhigher degreemayalso be an advantage.
  • Commercial awareness ofindustry.
  • High motivation for this specific opportunity.
  • Self-motivated team player with exceptional people skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative while fully co-ordinating with line manager’s requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full UK driving licence.
