Job description

Overview

We have a vacancy for an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to assume a key role within Fife’s Eating Disorder Advanced Intervention Team (EDAIT). This is a multi-disciplinary team, working directly with cases requiring tertiary tier input and liaising with the Regional Eating Disorders Unit when inpatient admissions are required. The team also works indirectly with cases at lower tiers, often via the community mental health teams. The post-holder will work closely with their EDAIT colleagues to deliver psychological interventions, offer consultancy, and provide care through EDAIT for people with complex and/or high risk presentations.

Key Expectations

We are looking for someone with initiative and enthusiasm to will join us in taking a lead role in ongoing evidence-based service redesign and development to best meet the needs of our patients. You will have experience of working with complex (schema level) psychological problems within a multidisciplinary team, and of service development. You will have experience of managing risk, working effectively with systems, and delivering team formulation. Experience of working therapeutically with eating disorders is desirable but not essential, as specific training can be delivered. Experience of assessing, formulating and delivering therapy to patients with complex co‑morbidity psychological problems, and skills in operating effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team, is essential.

You will have access to regular clinical and managerial supervision, as well as opportunities for additional peer support.

Our Service

This is an opportunity to join Fife’s large area‑wide Psychology Service that includes all the major clinical specialties. The Service is friendly, research‑active and maintains a vigorous CPD programme. It has well‑established links with the Universities of Edinburgh, Stirling and Dundee and provides placements for DClinPsychol trainees and trainees doing a range of clinically‑based Masters programmes. This post will also offer CPD opportunities through links with the East of Scotland Regional Eating Disorders Network.
