A healthcare organization in Scotland is seeking a motivated Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Community Psychiatric Nurse. Primary Care Mental Health Community Psychiatric Nurse

Band 6 £41,608 – £50,702 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,406

37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Band 6 to join the Uists and Barra Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). The post holder will work collaboratively within the CMHT day to day, with the role being focused on offering interventions to adults requiring support at a primary care level. There are ample opportunities for the post holder to develop experience and skills required working within a remote and rural community setting. The team works across the Southern Isles (Benbecula, Uists and Barra) with a permanent team base situated in Benbecula.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve services for people over 18 years with common mental health problems within primary care.
  • Provide mental health screening assessments, risk assessment, medication monitoring, telephone triage, signposting, referral to other services and brief intervention for people experiencing common mental health problems to enable timely access to evidence‑based interventions.
  • Work across designated GP practices and attend weekly integrated care team meetings.
  • Support the Community Psychiatric Nurse Team Out of Hours Service (average 1 week in every 4 on‑call).
Qualifications
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
