£34,749 - 40,939 plus the following:

Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours | Onsite

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Primary Asset Inspector to join our team!

As a Primary Asset Inspector you will be responsible for carrying out the routine safety and condition inspections of our Primary Assets, covering all plant types and voltages associated with the Distribution Network.

In addition to conducting primary substation inspections, you will also be responsible for battery testing and replacements, link box inspections, compliance checks and various types of asset sampling.

You will be required to travel within the region depending on your working area and a works vehicle will be provided for transport.

You will:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of primary substations and the LV underground network using non-intrusive diagnostic techniques, in line with ESQCR 2002.
  • Collect and document accurate data to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Identify faults in the distribution network and elevate appropriately, prioritising safety at all times.
  • Perform routine testing and maintenance of batteries and ensure tools and substation equipment are safe and compliant.
  • Take and analyse oil samples from plant equipment to assess asset condition and detect issues like contamination or degradation.
You have:
  • LV authorisations or working towards with portfolio evidence.
  • Experience and familiarity of working with Primary assets with the ability to condition assess.
  • Awareness of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
  • Competence and understanding of Distributions inspection procedures, and statutory obligations such as the Distribution Network Operations (DNO) business and Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations.

As there is a requirement to travel to various locations, a full UK driving licence is therefore essential.
