Job summary

A leading local Academy in Peterborough is looking for a Volunteer Intern to support the development of young footballers. The role involves planning and delivering sessions in partnership with coaching staff and contributing to a positive environment for U9 Academy players. Candidates should be prepared to attend regular training sessions and help nurture young talent. This is a part-time volunteer position that provides invaluable experience in sports coaching.

Responsibilities

Location – Bespoke Builds Training Ground, Oundle Road, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire PE2 7EA.

Volunteering days and hours – Wednesday 5pm – 6:30pm, Saturday 9am – 11am

An exciting Volunteer Intern opportunity has arisen within the Peterborough United Academy to contribute to the development of footballers within the Academy programme, helping the academy achieve its vision of becoming ‘a leading Category 2 Academy developing a minimum of three academy graduates per season’.

The Role

To support the age groups within the Pre-Academy in line with our pre-academy philosophy. To support one coaching session and one game day per week during the season.

Duties
  • To play a role in the development of players within the pre-academy age groups
  • Planning, delivering and evaluating with the support from the age group manager
  • To work closely with the Pre-Academy Lead, Foundation Phase Lead coach, Academy Head of Coaching, and alongside your age group Lead Coach
  • To assist in developing the best possible talent for the U9 Academy age group.
  • Supporting a positive and engaging environment for young children to develop in
  • Attend CPD sessions provided by the Academy
