Practice Nurse – Primary Care (Permanent)

Contract: Permanent – Full time over 4 days, will consider Part time

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join a supportive and welcoming Primary Care team. This is a permanent opportunity within a close-knit practice that is part of a wider group of GP surgeries who work collaboratively to improve both staff and patient experiences.

Having personally visited the practice, it is clear that pride, teamwork, and a strong sense of community are at the heart of what they do.

The successful candidate will play an integral role within the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care and supporting patients in the management of both acute and long‑term conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension)
  • Childhood and adult immunisations
  • Cervical cytology (smears)
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Health screening and promotion
  • Supporting the achievement of QOF targets and audits
  • Contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the clinical team
Requirements
  • NMC registered nurse with experience in Primary Care or Practice Nursing
  • Competency in treatment room skills and chronic disease management
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and patient‑centred approach
