Thank you for your patience during this update**Specific Duties and Responsibilities:****Strategic Policy Engagement*** Identify opportunities for our research to contribute to policy development, enquiries and calls for evidence through national, regional and local government.* Translate research into policy briefs for the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority, among others.* Monitor relevant policy developments across all levels of government and relevant organisations, sharing information with suitable colleagues.* Act as a conduit between the University and external stakeholders in relation to policy engagement and development.**Stakeholder Engagement*** Work together with academics to support the translation of research into actionable policy recommendations and engagement outputs.* Work closely with Head of Operations, Head of Research Culture and other members of KE team in managing effective day to day operations of the University’s Policy Hub.* Coordinate cross-disciplinary initiatives to respond to government consultations, white papers and policy forums.* Support the development of policy briefs and submissions to parliamentary or sector bodies, coordinating and in some cases leading meetings internally on this.* Provide support to policy related funding bids as required.**Communications*** Manage communications relative to the Policy Hub, liaising with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure opportunities for policy engagement are disseminated.* Develop processes to ensure the University’s policy related research is communicated to relevant internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Leadership.**Capacity Building*** Support the development and delivery of training and skills development for staff across the institution which will underpin policy capacity and capability.* Identify areas of skills development opportunity to provide relevant training to meet required needs of academic colleagues.**REF 2029*** Support the development and delivery of policy related impact case studies for REF where appropriate.* Provide advice and support to REF Impact Case Study leads and authors on matters relating to policy engagement and policy impact.**Events*** Identify and develop opportunities to support and develop policy engagement events on campus and externally for relevant stakeholders.Please note that this is a full time (36,5 hours) fixed term (24 months) position.Please upload a CV and cover letter via the Resume/Cover Letter section of the online application form.For an informal discussion about this role please contact Lynne MacDonald, Head of Operations Lynne.MacDonald@hull.ac.ukPlease note this vacancy closes at 00:01 on 9 January 2026.If you would like to be part of our future or have any queries, then please get in touch today - Talent@Hull.ac.uk### Get In TouchIntroduce yourself to our recruiters and we'll get in touch if there's a role that seems like a good match
