Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

Location: Edinburgh or Alderley Park (Wilmslow)

Working Style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We have a fantastic opportunity for a PMO Manager (Change Portfolio) to join our PMO function at Royal London. The PMO Function has a unique value proposition which helps to translate business strategy into execution, through successful delivery of a portfolio of change. The PMO Manager will provide delivery support, oversight, and challenge to the change practitioners in the execution of change, ensuring that change is governed effectively and that reporting, and insights are timely, accurate and effective to drive decision making across the portfolio.

More about the role
  • Acts as a champion of the best practice, standards, processes, templates, and tools and supports on-going communication and training to the wider change delivery community.
  • Performs first line oversight role offering independent oversight and challenge of the performance of change delivery.
  • Analyses and evaluates programme / sub-portfolio data to identify discrepancies, trends, exceptions, and opportunities, makes constructive challenge and recommendations on progress reporting, pulling out key themes.
  • Maintains oversight of the delivery performance ensuring risks are being managed effectively and that the sub-portfolio/programme is making progress towards the agreed outcomes and goals.
  • Supports review of investment cases and change requests ensuring they adhere to standards and are of sufficient quality.
  • Ensure that change finances are managed in conjunction with the governance and standards set out in the RL change framework.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure that business reporting requirements are effectively met.
  • Potential people management of Delivery PMO Lead(s) and/or Analyst(s).
  • Maintain a close relationship and collaborate with the Enterprise Portfolio Office and the Centre of Excellence driving continuous improvement, and capability development.
More about you
  • Previous experience of change portfolio delivery within a PMO function is essential
  • Strong understanding of P3M principles and techniques
  • Experience in the management of portfolio, programme and project lifecycles
  • Experience in implementing agile change frameworks, and an understanding of PMO role within a regulated environment (preferably Financial Services)
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand and be innovative in their approach to managing budgets and risk.
  • Experience of procurement and financial budget processes
  • Experience of portfolio planning and resource management
  • Strong understanding of risk management and assurance frameworks
