Plating Operator (Wirer/Jigger)

  • Job Type:Full-time
  • Salary:£12.71 per hour

This role is crucial for maintaining high-quality standards of electroplating and metal finishing of components used in demanding environments like oil and gas, aerospace, and defence. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Read and adhere to all relevant documentation for plating and finishing processes.
  • Strictly follow company manufacturing, health & safety, and quality procedures.
  • Execute the production plan and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Identify and apply correct jigging and wiring/barrelling methods for each component.
  • Safely handle chemicals within the plating department.
  • Utilise x-ray spectrometer and other equipment to measure plating thickness and perform visual inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety rules and company standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to follow strict processes and safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new plating techniques.
  • Previous experience in plating or metal finishing is beneficial but not essential.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow work instructions accurately.
