Job summary

A local planning authority in Norwich is seeking a qualified candidate to manage planning applications and contribute to planning policy development. Candidates should have a recognized qualification in Town Planning and in a heritage related subject, alongside experience in development management. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential. The role is full-time, 37 hours a week, and offers a permanent position. Applications must be submitted by 12pm on January 7, 2026.

37 hours per week Full-time Permanent

We are looking for a suitably experienced candidate to handle planning applications, pre-application enquiries and contribute to the development of planning policy. Applicants should have a recognised qualification in Town Planning and in a heritage related subject, experience of working in development management and heritage, preparing reports and giving presentations on development proposals.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Practical experience in the use of databases, GIS and the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills are also key requirements.
