Phase One Trainee Teacher – SEND (Special Needs) | Level 4 Qualification

Are you ready to train, earn, and make a real difference? Join our salaried teacher training programme with Grad2Teach and work at a supportive secondary special school in Greater London. In this graduate teaching role, you will:

  • Serve as a Phase One Trainee Teacher, supporting students aged 11–19 with severe learning disabilities (SLD), profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD).
  • Be based at a specialist school in Uxbridge.
  • Gain hands‑on classroom experience working alongside experienced teachers and teaching assistants in small, high‑support classes (average class size ~8).
  • Learn in well‑resourced environments, including sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, and life‑skills area.
  • Receive structured, salaried training through Grad2Teach’s Level 4 qualification (Phase One) pathway.
  • Progress to Phase Two, where you will undertake independent teaching leading to a PGCE with Coventry University, aligned with the Core Content Framework (CCF) and the national Teaching Standards.

Training & Progression
  • You will start with Grad2Teach’s Phase One salaried route, working towards a Level 4 qualification.
  • Your training is informed by the Core Content Framework (CCF) and aligned with national Teaching Standards.
  • Upon successful completion of Phase One, you will progress to Phase Two, where you will teach independently and work toward a PGCE awarded by Coventry University.
  • Throughout, you will benefit from structured mentorship, observations, and reflective practice, to build your confidence and professional skills.
