Job summary

A family-owned Garden Centre Group is looking for a motivated Pets Retail Assistant for their Oxford location. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Pet Department, such as caring for animals, maintaining stock displays, and delivering excellent customer service. A qualification in animal welfare is preferred. The position offers a competitive pay rate and requires flexibility, including weekend work. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Pets Retail Assistant Temporary Position - Notcutts Oxford Garden Centre

Part time – 20 hours per week, plus every other weekend and some bank holidays. Flexibility required.

Salary: up to £12.31 per.

This is a temporary fixed‑term contract ending 31 March 2026.

Notcutts are a family‑owned Garden Centre Group in the UK. The Pet Department is a key part of our store and drives customer traffic. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pets Retail Assistant to join our Oxford team.

As a Pets Retail Assistant you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the Pet Department: caring for animals, maintaining stock displays, ensuring animal compliance, merchandising and providing excellent customer service. Experience caring for household pets and aquatic animals in a retail environment would be beneficial.

We prefer candidates with a qualification in animal welfare and experience caring for animals, but we provide full training. If you enjoy working with animals and people (in that order!) and can deliver an outstanding customer experience, we want to hear from you.
