Pet Matching Officer - Cats and Small Pets

Woodgreenare looking for a Pet Matching Officer to join our Cats and Small Pets team to facilitate the swift and successful placement of cats and small pets into suitable permanent or foster homes while providing exceptional customer service and support to both adopters and foster carers.

Responsible for overseeing current cases and ensuring rapid and appropriate outcomes our Pet Matching Officers will;

  • Efficiently match cats and small pets with suitable permanent or foster homes taking into account individual needs, personalities and adopter or fosterer lifestyles.
  • Assess foster carers, customer and pet needs during the matching process to ensure successful placements and provide tailored support.
  • Develop and implement rehoming strategies for any long term or high need cats or small pets, considering their individual needs and characteristics to swiftly get them in to appropriate homes.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams within the organization to ensure effective foster and rehoming outcomes.
  • Work with our Intake & Rehoming Specialist where care, behaviour or veterinary support is required.

By providing exceptional customer service to pet seekers and foster carers they will create a welcoming and engaging environment handling general enquiries and resolving issues effectively ensuring accuracy, data privacy and confidentiality at all times.

If you have;

  • Substantial experience of working in a customer facing role and delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the care of pets.
  • Highly developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in dealing with a wide range of audience groups.
  • The ability to work under pressure applying empathy and pragmatism to difficult situations

This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week, including every other weekend. The starting salary for this position is £24,570per annum. This will be complemented by;

  • 36 days annual leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to a maximum of 40 days after five years
