Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for your next challenge? At Buro Happold, we’re seeking a Payroll Manager to lead our UK payroll function and deliver a responsive, accurate, and compliant payroll service to our employees.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage monthly payroll processing, including new hires, leavers, and salary changes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll payments in line with statutory requirements.
  • Complete year-end routines (P60s, P11Ds) and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
  • Act as the go-to expert for payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Liaise with HR, finance teams, external auditors, and pension providers.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in payroll processes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience: 2–5 years UK payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of PAYE/NIC, statutory payments, and payroll compliance.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and payroll software (Unit4 experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and highly organised with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
