Job description

We are looking for a Pattern Maker to be responsible for creating accurate templates and patterns used in the production of upholstered furniture. This role ensures that designs are translated into precise, manufacturable components that support consistent quality and efficient production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and create patterns for furniture components, including frames, foam, fabric, and leather.
  • Interpret design drawings, prototypes, and specifications to produce accurate patterns.
  • Work closely with designers, product development, and production teams to refine patterns and ensure manufacturability.
  • Adjust and modify patterns to improve fit, comfort, and production efficiency.
  • Use manual tools or CAD software to draft, cut, and revise patterns.
  • Conduct test fits on prototypes and make necessary corrections.
  • Maintain organized pattern files and documentation for all product lines.
  • Ensure patterns are aligned with quality, cost, and ergonomic standards.
  • Collaborate with upholstery and cutting departments to resolve any pattern-related issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of materials such as fabric behavior, stretch, grain direction, foam density, and upholstery techniques.

Ideal candidates with have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in pattern making, preferably in furniture or upholstery manufacturing.
  • Strong technical understanding of furniture construction, upholstery techniques, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
