Job description
  • Granta Veterinary Specialists - Cambridge

Granta Veterinary Specialists – Linton, Cambridgeshire Full-time

Our Patient Care Assistants are at the heart of everything we do. They’re the people who keep things moving on the wards — caring for our patients, supporting our nurses and vets, preparing equipment, and helping the hospital run smoothly day to day.

This is a hands-on, practical role in a busy, independent referral centre, where teamwork, kindness and common sense matter just as much as experience.

What makes this role special

  • You’ll care for a varied referral caseload, from new admissions through to recovery and discharge
  • You’ll be part of a friendly, close-knit daytime team where everyone helps each other out
  • You’ll play a key role in maintaining the high standards of care we’re proud of

What we’re looking for

  • Someone caring, reliable and proactive
  • A strong team player with good communication skills
  • Experience in animal care is preferred but not essential
  • A genuine love of animals — and a willingness to muck in when needed

The practical bits

  • Full-time role
  • Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 6.30pm
  • 8-hour shifts

What you’ll get

  • Competitive pay
  • Holiday allowance plus your birthday off
  • Free fruit
  • A supportive, welcoming team in an independent, vet-led referral centre
