Location: Manchester Area – Remote (with travel as required) Salary: £27,000 – £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Legal team. In this role, you’ll support colleagues across all business areas and work on a diverse range of legal matters, including corporate, commercial, property and employment law. You’ll also manage consumer court claims and assist with high-value or complex litigation, ensuring cost-effective and successful outcomes under appropriate supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with a wide variety of legal work, supporting senior team members on a range of legal matters.
  • Manage consumer court claims in-house and coordinate outsourced work (where appropriate) under appropriate supervision, including liaising with external counsel on high-value or complex litigation.
  • Provide support on general advisory and pre-litigation matters, including debt recovery, complex offences and enforcement.
  • Handle key legal administrative tasks such as document execution, indexing, and invoice processing.
  • Undertake legal research and help develop templates, workflows, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service & Complaints teams to resolve complex issues early and reduce litigation risk.
  • Contribute to strategic projects and commercial arrangements as needed.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Legal team to manage workload requirements.
  • Promote Lookers’ strategy, values and behaviors.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Law degree, SQE or GDL and LPC, or working towards the CILEX.
  • Experience in litigation and consumer law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a positive, clear communication style.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships quickly with colleagues and external partners.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adaptability to new practice areas.
  • Self-motivated with the confidence to seek guidance when needed and cope with changing demands.
