Job summary

A community support organization is seeking a personal assistant to help a 14-year-old navigate local activities and ensure safety. The ideal candidate should have experience with neurodiverse children and possess communication skills, especially in using VOCA and Makaton. The role requires flexibility in hours, with a focus on supervising outings and providing personal care support. Candidates must be physically fit and be able to establish clear boundaries while encouraging a positive environment.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to manage challenging behaviors.
• Experience in a SEND environment would be advantageous.
• Respectful of boundaries and personal space.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care after toileting.
• Support in social activities and community access.
• Supervise and ensure safety during outings.
