Job description
Operations Supervisor – Ramsgate

We are looking to recruit an Operations Supervisor at our Ramsgate facility.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day team management of the Inspection sections.
  • Plan and schedule workload in line with the site production schedule.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of strong team morale and team working.
  • Maintain and ensure implementation of all standard operating practices and procedures.
  • Train, motivate and performance manage staff; complete performance reviews, identify training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Manage first level discipline and grievance issues for team members.
  • Maintain the function of plant and equipment to include machine maintenance; comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain and monitor stock levels of machine shop consumables.
  • Co‑ordinate the efficient use and organisation of resources and equipment to meet the production schedule.
  • Plan for and support the implementation of new product development initiatives.
  • Ensure strict compliance and implementation of all safety standards.
  • Ensure component work is undertaken in accordance with procedures.
  • Liaise with the customer support team.
Experience & Competencies
  • Experience within the Engineering Industry.
  • Team leadership experience within a production workshop environment.
  • Computer literate.
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Customer focused and able to build and maintain robust customer relationships.
  • Able to manage and develop a team in a demanding, customer focused working environment.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills; capable of communicating accurate and concise information at all levels.
  • Understanding and implementation of lean process principles and their applications.
  • Results orientated; able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills.
