Operations Supervisor – Veolia
Location: Manchester, UK

What you'll be doing
- Manage day‑to‑day compliance and standards of operations across three commercial depots, including health, safety and fleet compliance.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees and those affected by our operations.
- Ensure training and competency checks are completed for all roles and recorded on AVA.
- Carry out daily site checks in line with requirements, VMS procedures and legislation.
- Support continual review of risk assessments, following any change in legislation, incidents or Veolia procedures.
- Provide knowledge and support on day‑to‑day challenges while maintaining maximum quality, health and safety requirements.
- Identify areas of improvement and propose solutions to rectify and resolve any gaps or concerns raised.
- Attend H&S meetings, reporting on current activity and making suggestions for improvement.
- Carry out risk assessments across all operational functions across the depots.
What we're looking for
- Ability to liaise and co‑operate with drivers, sub‑contractors and customers.
- Organisational skills – managing work schedule across three operating depots.
- Motivation to drive improvements and embed a proactive risk culture.
- Operational health and safety experience – including training, assessments and inductions.
- Hazard perception skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential risks in various operational environments.
- IT / computer literate (use of Google).
- Full clean driving licence.
- Class 2 (Cat C) licence / up to date CPC / Digi – Tachograph card preferential.
Warehouse Operations Supervisor – 3 Commercial Depots
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing and shipping.
- Manage and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring productivity and adherence to standards.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and implement stock control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and security regulations within the warehouse.
- Optimise warehouse layout and space utilisation for maximum efficiency.
- Coordinate with transportation providers for inbound and outbound logistics.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Train new team members and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and manage team performance.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse operations supervision or management.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics principles.

Logistics Operations Supervisor – E‑commerce Fulfilment
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse associates, including receiving, put‑away, picking, packing and shipping.
- Ensure all warehouse operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and implement cycle‑counting procedures to maintain data integrity.
- Optimise warehouse layout and workflow to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Train, coach and develop warehouse team members to ensure high performance and skill development.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Manage the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse functions.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, accuracy and on‑time delivery, and report on findings.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train and motivate a team of cleaning operatives, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion.
- Develop and implement detailed cleaning schedules and rotas, ensuring all areas are covered according to standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with hygiene standards, safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering stock as needed and ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
- Address and resolve any hygiene‑related issues or complaints promptly and effectively.
- Ensure that all operatives are trained in the correct use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, adhering to COSHH regulations.

- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor cleaning quality, identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to health, safety and hygiene regulations.
