Operations Manager
North Yorkshire (York and Scarborough)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum plus vehicle and bonus

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will lead and inspire high performance across a busy operational environment. Acting as a key point of contact for our customers, you’ll thrive under the demands of a frontline service while understanding and responding to customer needs.

You will take full ownership of the site P&L, ensuring budget delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain depot standards and ensure facilities meet company requirements
  • Ensure client contracts are delivered in full and developed strategically
  • Oversee all warehouse operations
  • Lead all service delivery, associated costs, and people management
  • Take full responsibility for depot stock performance
  • Manage all operational teams (approx. 60 employees), including Driver Technicians, Service Engineers, Customer Services, Warehouse, and Decontamination
  • Oversee customer service KPIs and order processing targets
  • Manage automated invoicing and resolve identified issues
  • Forecast needs, prepare budgets, monitor expenditure, analyse variances, and initiate corrective action
  • Drive profitable growth through cost control and effective use of company assets
  • Champion world-class customer service at all times
  • Manage employee relations processes, including disciplinary actions up to dismissal
  • Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and develop staff
  • Understand financial data and the wider business impact of decisions
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and quality standards

Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Minimum 1 year in a public, healthcare or service-based industry (desirable)
  • Proven experience as an operational leader
  • Full, valid driving licence (essential)
