We are seeking a highly organised and delivery-focused Senior Operations Manager to take ownership of our customer operations. This role involves leading a small team to deliver high-quality onboarding and offboarding of consultants, meeting agreed KPIs, and maintaining compliance across all operational processes.
A core part of this role is the establishment and leadership of a PMO office within the organisation. You will work closely with the Head of Operations to design, embed, and mature PMO capabilities, strengthen delivery oversight, and drive operational efficiency across the business. You will report directly to the Head of Operations and play a key role in ensuring seamless client and consultant experiences in a fast-paced, start-up/scale-up environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Delivery – Manage the Operations team by allocating workloads efficiently, setting clear priorities, and ensuring deadlines are met; provide structured feedback through 1:1s and quarterly performance reviews; act as the first point of escalation, resolving operational issues promptly.
- Operational Excellence – Ensure all onboarding and offboarding tasks, including contracts, agreements, and compliance checks, are completed accurately and on time; maintain daily accuracy of systems to ensure visibility of key operational metrics; produce accurate and timely performance reports for monitoring and decision-making; maintain and update the risk and issues log, escalating blockers as required.
- Compliance and Governance – Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., IR35, BPSS, audits), keeping documentation accurate and up to date; ensure purchase orders are processed promptly once contracts are signed; support audit readiness and compliance reviews across customer operations; establish and lead the PMO office, embedding frameworks and processes that enable effective governance, planning, and delivery oversight; develop and maintain portfolio, programme, and project reporting to provide transparency to senior leadership and stakeholders; define and implement standardised methodologies, tools, and templates to ensure consistent delivery practices; drive alignment between operational processes and delivery governance to support scalability and growth; continuously monitor, evaluate, and mature the PMO function to ensure it adds measurable value to the organisation.
- Cross-functional Development – Collaborate with Account Managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding aligned to client expectations; build and maintain strong relationships with client counterparts to drive continuous improvement in onboarding, offboarding, and service quality; promote continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance operations.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in establishing and leading a PMO office, with strong knowledge of PMO frameworks, governance, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and grow an operations team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong background in operational management, compliance, and delivery oversight.
