The Operations Director has the objective of managing the operational process by leading and strategically directing all operational aspects of projects to ensure successful and seamless execution, mainly in cooperation with the operational team.

Since 2014, Fanfinity has brought fans and brands together in the gaming industry.

We create and deliver fan experiences for gaming communities in Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Flesh & Blood, Disney Lorcana, Star Wars:Unlimited, One Piece, League of Legends, CS:GO, Mario Kart, Splatoon, and more!

With more than 9 nationalities in our team of 25+ dedicated gaming and esports experts, we support our communities and clients (brands, conventions, tournament organisers & game publishers) all across Europe and beyond, from our offices in Ghent (Belgium) and London (UK). We love games and want to share our excitement with communities around the world.

We’ve hosted 200+ events in 14+ countries, welcoming 250.000+ fans, and as a fast-growing company, we’re looking to expand even further.

YOURROLE

The Operations Director leads the operational process by strategically directing all operational aspects of projects to ensure successful and seamless execution. This is achieved by managing teams responsible for operational planning, execution, and evaluation of projects, while pursuing the highest standards of efficiency and customer satisfaction for all projects.

YOURTASKS

Leadership

  • Coach, motivate and inspire team leads to become effective leaders
  • Support the delegation of tasks by the team leads based on the strengths and skills of individual team members
  • Provide support, coaching, and guidance to promote the professional development of the operations teams
  • Evaluate the performance of teams and team leads and provide constructive feedback
  • Listen to the needs and concerns of the teams and communicate goals and expectations clearly
  • Communicate customer expectations based on input from the commercial director

Quality Control

  • Maintain a high-level overview of the progress of various ongoing projects
  • Approve budgets in collaboration with project managers to ensure accurate financial alignment. The operations director has final approval on all the project budgets and closings
  • Ensure consistency and quality across projects in various aspects such as rates, team selection processes, and post-event handling timelines
  • Conduct periodic check-ins with team members for feedback and project updates
  • Maintain regular communication with the commercial team to report both positive and negative aspects, as well as any client requests, and ensure appropriate actions are taken by team members
  • Cultivate a synergy between the commercial team and the operations team
  • Attend events as required to stay informed and engaged
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure cohesion across the tasks
  • Coach and support team members by adapting your approach to each individual, ensuring messages are clearly understood and actions are effectively implemented

Project Oversight

  • Keep an overview of all ongoing and upcoming projects in close collaboration with the commercial director
  • Pro-actively handle potential challenges
  • Act as an integral member of the management team, which involves active participation in meetings, thoughtful problem-solving, supporting decisions even if personal agreement is lacking, contemplating ways to enhance the company, and representing the opinions of the team
  • Defend needs & requirements of your team
  • Inform other departments of your activities within your department
  • Align with other departments to create the best possible flow & interaction
