Following the opening of our brand-new Respiratory Unit, we are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist with experience and a special interest in respiratory care to join our team at Frimley Park.

About the role:

As a Band 7 Clinical Specialist, you will take a lead in shaping the Occupational Therapy service for respiratory and medical patients.

You will also work hand-in-hand with the Medical Team Lead OT to ensure patients within the Medical and Older Persons directorate receive excellent, patient-centred services.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide expert clinical support and advise, alongside the OT Team Leader, linking closely with multi-professional colleagues.
  • To hold a clinical caseload, providing excellent, high-quality person-centred clinical management, including patients who have complex acute and chronic presentations, determining the functional deficits and OT treatment within an acute setting.
  • To strive to provide a service fit for today and the future, considering and inputting into the latest evidence-based practice, developing personal leadership to support clinical and service growth and staff development.
  • The post holder will be the Clinical Specialist to support and facilitate Occupational Therapy Service with key roles in the development of a competent, knowledgeable workforce, equipping them to provide high-quality person-centred care.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to provide assessment, treatment, advice, evaluation and clinical management at an advanced level for patients who have complex, acute and chronic presentations.
  • Participation in a 7-day working roster and bank holiday cover.

Qualifications
  • Diploma / degree in OT recognised by College of OT
  • H.C.P.C Registered OT
  • Evidence of post graduate training in the relevant clinical field

  • Support junior staff in managing their caseload
  • Previous experience as a band 7 occupational therapist or equivalent.
  • Experience of research
