Nursery Manager

Join us at Tops Day Nurseries in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, as a Nursery Manager. Your role will support the safe, educational and engaging environment for our children, supervising staff, managing the budget, and ensuring outstanding care and learning outcomes.

Base salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum. Additional benefits include a £700 welcome bonus and relocation support of up to £3,000. The position is full‑time and permanent.

About the Role

As a Nursery Manager, you will ensure a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and pre‑school children. Your responsibilities include:

• Managing nursery settings effectively and supervising staff and children
• Communicating with children, staff and parents with clarity and professionalism
• Planning and delivering engaging, age‑appropriate educational activities
• Maintaining a positive and secure environment for all children
• Interviewing, training and supporting potential staff candidates
• Managing budgeting, financial planning and resource allocation
• Coordinating marketing and outreach materials
• Overseeing facility and equipment maintenance
• Providing updates to parents on child progress and behaviour
• Handling enrolment, payment and policy enquiries
• Planning annual events and activities
• Preparing for Ofsted inspections and implementing feedback

Qualifications and Experience

• Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum) and solid knowledge of EYFS
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection
• Experience managing nursery settings and supervising staff
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Positive leadership style that fosters a happy and secure environment

Important Safeguarding Information

• Held or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (cost to be covered by candidate if not already held)
• Not on the Children’s Barred List and able to work in regulated roles
• Successfully complete background and reference checks
