Role Overview

The Nuclear Equipment Surveyor combines administrative and technical skills. In the pre‑manufacturing phase you will review procedures and inspection plans to confirm conformity with international codes and project‑specific requirements. During manufacturing, you will supervise on‑site inspectors remotely, collate inspection reports, and communicate findings to clients.

Additional responsibilities include participating in online and face‑to‑face meetings, and making periodic visits to manufacturing locations in the UK and Europe.

This role is predominantly home‑based; candidates must be comfortable working unsupervised for extended periods.

Only UK nationals will be considered and a security clearance will be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review procedures and inspection plans to establish conformity with international codes and standards.
  • Conduct inspections on site.
  • Act as a technical decision‑maker.
  • Create and issue inspection deliverables.
  • Supervise on‑site inspectors, review and collate inspection reports, and communicate findings to the end customer.
  • Attend online and face‑to‑face meetings, including periodic visits to manufacturing locations in the UK and Europe.
  • Explain findings of reviews to manufacturers and end clients.
Requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge in welding, materials, heat treatment and non‑destructive testing (NDT).
  • Ability to use and understand international standards such as ASME and the BS EN ISO series.
Training

Training will be provided on industry‑specific codes such as RCC‑M.
