Job description

CARTERS Cambridge Manufacturing are seeking an experienced Night Shift Supervisor with sound manufacturing knowledge and understanding of the processes within a frame and truss manufacturing environment.

About the role

We are seeking a Night Shift Supervisor, reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead, supervise and coordinate a production team of manufacturing operators and carpenters, ensuring production targets are met; safety and quality is adhered to while training and developing your team. Working 5pm to 5am Monday to Thursday with Friday as required due to business demand.

Key responsibilities of the role are as follows
  • Lead a team of up to 40 team members ensuring products meet customer expectations and requirements
  • Manage your team of employees, temps and contractors to deliver performance expectations
  • Work cooperatively with the manufacturing leadership team to deliver quality product and service
  • Ensure appropriate training and development of staff
  • Ensure systems are in place to minimise waste
  • Ensure customer delivery dates are met
  • Ensure a culture of continuous improvement
About you

You will be highly motivated and have a passion for developing a high-performance culture to meet business objectives while possessing the following skills and experience:

  • Leadership role experience in a multi shift environment ideally Night Shift.
  • Strong technical and tactical experience and comprehensive understanding of team leadership within the building/frame and truss manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with regard to technical queries and the ability to confidently provide solutions or remedial actions for your team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in computer controlled operating environment
