We deliver full-funnel creative solutions for corporate and business clients.

The Part You’ll Play as New Business Director

As part of our New Business team for McCann London, you’ll specifically be aligned with our B2B practice, focussed on identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities for this area. This role requires a strong balance of relationship‑building, leadership, organisation and proactivity.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development Strategy
  • Work with the wider Growth team to develop and execute a robust new business strategy that aligns with the agency’s objectives, prioritising growth within key sectors and expanding the agency’s footprint across corporate and B2B clients
  • Create and update assets to support new business activity – e.g. case studies, credentials, offering and positioning slides
  • Responsible for creating a new business pipeline, via a mix of inbound and outbound marketing, working with growth leaders to target potential clients
Relationship Management
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with McCann network growth leaders, IPG agency partners, intermediaries, and potential clients.
  • Manage internal relationships with SLT members, keeping them informed and involved as required, and presenting regular status updates and key decisions for approval.
Lead Generation and Prospecting
  • Identify, evaluate, and cultivate potential clients, leveraging industry insights, networking, and data analysis to drive high‑value leads.
Pitch Leadership
  • Oversee the pitch process end‑to‑end. From RFI submissions, to RFP and preparation for chemistry meetings, to delivery of best‑in‑class pitch presentations, working either as pitch lead or supporting a member of the SLT
Collaboration with Internal Teams
  • Partner with creative, strategic, and account management teams to ensure new business opportunities are aligned with agency capabilities and resources.
Market and Competitor Analysis
  • Continuously analyse market trends and competitors, refining strategies to ensure prospecting lists are up to date with the latest industry information.
Brand Ambassador
  • Represent the agency as the first point of contact for all New Business opportunities, in line with its core values and behaviours
