Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) – Bristol

Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Bristol, England, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Role Summary: The successful candidate will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant, equipment and building services.

  • Identify and manage risks to the client through site equipment, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, improving machine performance, and implementing preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working production environment and liaise with the client on requested machinery PPMs.
  • Fault find on all types of machinery, support others in the department with Health & Safety, and provide electrical & mechanical expertise for heavy industrial machines and overhead cranes.
  • Write and follow risk assessments, complete required documentation, and work on three‑phase systems up to 440 V.
  • Work on motors, gearboxes, valves, including hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Use mobile devices and CAFM maintenance system to project and complete works.
  • Liaise with on‑site site services to resolve building services issues.
  • Act as responsible person when required and deputise the Shift Leader during absences.
  • Work overtime, including nights and weekends, as the business requires.
  • Perform ad‑hoc duties as required.

Experience & Training Required: Electrical/Mechanical maintenance experience, risk assessment & documentation, heavy engineering familiarity. Preferred experience in heavy engineering.

Multi Skilled Operative – Bristol

Job Title: Multi Skilled Operative

Hourly Rate: £15.32 per hour + merit rate up to £4.38 per hour

Role based: Bristol, BS10 7SD (Driving licence required)

Contract type: Permanent, Working hours: Monday‑Thursday 7:45‑4:30, Friday 7:45‑3:30

  • Maintain a safe, organised and compliant working environment.

This role is similar to the on‑site operative but involves weekly travel across the South West (Gloucester, Swindon to Cornwall). All other responsibilities, working hours, benefits and conditions mirror the on‑site role.

Apprentice Salary: £48,000 – £50,000 + 28 days holiday (rising) + EAP + C2W scheme + Free Parking

Role:

  • Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Support the maintenance and wider team to keep the facility moving.
  • Work in cold environments; PPE provided.
  • Occasional work on ladders at height.

The Candidate:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in Engineering – NVQ Level 3 or similar.
  • Experienced working with automated equipment.
