A leading manufacturing company in Costessey is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with electrical bias to ensure the continuous running of production processes. This role involves fault-finding and maintenance of various equipment alongside a rotating shift pattern. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical skills, as well as experience in maintenance. Qualifications

So, what’s the role about?

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault‑finding and maintenance of equipment. You will work on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.

Working 42 hours per week, the current shift pattern covers days and nights, Monday – Sunday. Here is an example of the shift pattern:

What are the skills required?
  • A good electrical working knowledge with mechanical experience is essential
  • Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position with Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent)
  • A thorough understanding of the IEE 18th edition
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Practical hands‑on approach
  • Significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plant
  • Experience in electrical fault‑finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives and team leaders from both maintenance and production
