A food production company based in Harlow is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support factory operations. Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Days

Location: Harlow, Essex

Shift pattern: 06:00 – 18:00, 4 days on, 4 days off

Salary: up to £51,409.75, dependent on skills/qualifications and experience

Riverway Foods was a family‑owned business based in Harlow, Essex until becoming part of the CPC Group. We produce some of the best sausages around and supply to major retailers including Aldi and Tesco.

Responsibilities

The role of our Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer is primarily to support the running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and delivering planned maintenance. Equally as important is driving improvement across the site in terms of new machinery, hygiene, quality, and performance. The engineer is responsible for proactive and reactive maintenance work, ensuring it is carried out to the highest possible standards across the whole of the site, and works closely with Production Teams to get machinery back up and running in a timely fashion.

Essential Qualifications
  • Apprentice trained in Electrical and Mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • NVQ3 or above / ONC / HNC in a related engineering discipline (Electrical and Mechanical).
Knowledge, Skills & Experience We Are Looking For Include
  • Experience in a FMCG or food‑production environment preferred; strong hands‑on electrical engineering experience also considered.
  • Familiarity with the latest UK electrical regulations and industrial electrical regulation standards.
  • PLC diagnostic experience (not programming).
  • Continuous improvement experience, tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and methodical work style.
  • Confident communication skills.
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and impact of failure.
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks.
  • Working knowledge of RCA.
  • Self‑motivated with great initiative.
