Type & Hours

Temporary ongoing (approximately 6 months)

Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (30-minute lunch) - 40 hours per week

Summary

Love fixing things, solving problems and keeping fast‑paced kit running smoothly? Join a busy, fully automated FMCG site in Folkestone where no two days are the same. This is a hands‑on role for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer who enjoys getting stuck in, working with modern machinery and being the go‑to person when the line needs a hero.

Key responsibilities
  • Keep high‑speed processing and packaging lines running through PPM, fault‑finding and reactive repairs
  • Track down and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on automated equipment
  • Strip, rebuild and re‑align mechanical components; change bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and ancillaries
  • Carry out electrical troubleshooting, wiring, motor and control component replacement and testing
  • Get involved in improvement projects, upgrades and new equipment installs
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and champion health & safety on shift
  • Work closely with production and engineering to smash downtime targets and boost reliability
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in an automated FMCG environment
  • Hands‑on experience with processing and packaging machinery
  • Mechanical qualification: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Electrical qualification: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Confident mechanical and electrical fault‑finding on automated plant
  • Great communicator and team player who can stay calm under pressure
  • Flexible approach to shifts if required
  • Experience with PLCs, drives and basic control systems
  • Experience installing and commissioning new equipment
