Job Purpose
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations within a specified region. The role includes planned and reactive maintenance and repairs to a wide range of electrical, mechanical and building assets in ASDA stores in an efficient and cost‑effective manner, whilst complying with the specified Company Health and Safety procedures.

Key Accountabilities
- Represent the company professionally and develop good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
- Complete all necessary PPMs and ensure all PPM remedial tasks are accurately logged and actioned, ensuring legal compliance.
- Supervise the Maintenance Assistant, provide regular coaching and support them to perform their role in line with company processes.
- Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job, carrying out repairs as required.
- Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and contract SLA’s.
- Communicate with ASDA Store Management teams and RES regarding any repair and maintenance issues that may affect the smooth running of the store.
- Carry out surveys and complete reports as required.
- Carry out alterations and installations within technical competence and in accordance with current specifications.
- Complete general repairs and maintenance to ASDA store sites as designated by the RES, e.g. repairs to the building fabric and surfaces.
- Assist other MSTs in other Stores/Regions when requested by the RES.
- Recruit and select suitably qualified and experienced MAs to ensure continuous service delivery in stores, following company processes and policies in recruitment.
- Maintain accurate administration and City applications, recording jobs live and effectively utilising time.
- Attend training courses as necessary and ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments, including overnight stays.
- Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Ensure current compliance documentation required for relevant allocated tasks are completed to required quality standards.
- Ensure the team attends and completes all mandatory training, including induction programmes and eLearning modules within the required timescales.
- Provide on‑the‑job coaching and support to the team so they can perform to required standards.
- Deliver technical coaching solutions to the required standards, ensuring trainee participation through active encouragement and support of learning.
- Complete all induction and training administration, including probationary reviews, to ensure the team is fully competent and aware of performance.
- Participate in an Out of Hours standby rota (minimum 1 week in 4) and complete general repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during Out of Hours Standby.
- Carry out basic repairs to plumbing systems and drainage during Out of Hours Standby.
- Carry out first look for equipment such as Fire and Security / HVAC / electrical and general issues.
- Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the RES or other City Management Team.
People Responsibility
- Interview, recruit, oversee and manage the Maintenance Assistant/Mobile Maintenance Assistant and Multi Site Maintenance Assistant for the stores they cover.
- Update Cascade, manage holidays and absence.

Professional / Academic / Vocational Qualifications
- C&G 2382 (18th edition)
- Level 3 core Electrical qualification, e.g., C&G2330, C&G 2365 (with relevant experience)
- Familiarity with completion of electrical certification
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection
- Time served in electrical discipline or relevant industry experience in a similar role
Specific Knowledge
- 3‑phase electrics and its applications

- Ability to complete the standard required for maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic equipment and appliances
