Job description
Move More Coordinators

We are recruiting two part‑time Move More Coordinators to join our team and deliver the new Move More Derbyshire Dales Strategy, currently in co‑production. The roles involve delivering a variety of physical activities across the Derbyshire Dales and may include weekend and evening delivery as required.

Location: Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Bank Road, Matlock, DE4 3NN

Salary: £25,989 to £27,254 per annum (Grade 5: SCP 6‑9). Hours: part time. Contract: temporary, subject to funding until 31 March 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sports and activities to people of all ages and abilities.
  • Target different groups, from the inactive and those with long‑term conditions or disabilities, to women and girls, youth diversion programme participants, event and festival attendees, and sports‑specific programmes such as tennis and pickleball.
  • Engage participants, promote participation, and create positive experiences of sport and physical activity.
  • Plan, organise and lead sessions independently, achieving quality coaching standards.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and the community to grow programme reach.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 National Governing Body coaching certificate.
  • Experience in creating and delivering engaging activity sessions.
  • Strong organisational, communication and partnership working skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive leadership style, with empathy and a willingness to overcome participation barriers.
  • Energy and enthusiasm for promoting sport and physical activity.
